This post is in response to Sleepy’s post found on Yasashii sekai… I took into account the 4 manga recommendation posts that Tessa has done, as well as those that Sleepy did before coming up with this list of recommendations. Especially for Sleepy, may you be filled with more fun to read yuri manga moments. (^_^)v

You know my way of doing stuff, I like to warn others beforehand in case there are kids wandering around clueless-ly on the internet. If you No LiKe PoRnOgRaPhIc Or YuRi MaTeRiAl, please turn back. With things clear, let’s start with the soft core ones and slowly get to those hard core ones.

Shoujo-ai

Tessa did a great job in covering most of the enjoyable shoujo-ai series there are. The Last Uniform, First Love Sisters, Aoi Hana and GirlxGirlxBoy are some that I enjoy reading. Thus, I’m at a lost because I can’t seem to come up with a list that does not include Tessa’s suggestions. But here goes nothing…

Hayate Cross Blade

This is another of my favourite that involves some action, nuances of girl love and lots of FTW laughter. For more information, read my review of it here. I can only think of this since you both have already covered many good ones. :p

The Conditions For Paradise

The “The Conditions for Paradise” (aka Rakuen no Jouken) is a compilation of yuri one shots by Morishima Akiko. “Azure Dream” revolves around an ordinary OL¹ and the aftermath of her one night stand with another co-worker after a drunk night. Scanlated by the team at Wings of Yuri, it can be found here. Scanlated by Lililicious here, my other favourites found in this volume include “Beyond the Stars” and “The Conditions for Paradise ” (both of which are one shots but they’re inter-related) where friends develop to become lovers.

Honey & Honey

“Honey & Honey” is a slice of life, or more accurately put, a depiction of Sachiko Takeuchi’s life as a lesbian in Japan. The art is not  mind blowing but everything is nicely colored with simple events interestingly portrayed. I would say that this manga is unique in its content and art in its own way.

Recently reviewed by me here, I like how the plot is developing so far and can’t wait to get to volume 2.

Konohana Link

Fans of Shoujo Sect should be familiar with Kurogane Kenn’s art and style. In “Konohana Link“, there is a return of Shoujo Sect look alike characters but with different names and love interests. Not as explicit as Shoujo Sect, follow the adventures of transfer student Suzuki Chieri and her new found love interest friend, Sakijima Saori.

Yuri Hentai

There are many yuri hentai manga out there but not many have a good plot or any plot to begin with. The reason is that most fall into the hentai category and focuses more on sex scenes to the extent that they can be deemed as pure pornography. The number 1 way to find good yuri hentai is to randomly try out the works of the various mangaka and if one strikes a chord, become a fan of his/her works. As not many are fortunate enough to publish a volume, many are one shot or chapters scattered everywhere in Yuri based magazines².

Nanzaki Iku

Also known as Doropanda Tours, Nanzaki Iku has done lots of ShizNat, Mai-Hime and Mai-Otome doujinshi that might be of interest.

Nanzaki Iku’s “Sweet Little Devil” first caught my eyes with its visually appeasing and nicely drawn school girls in uniforms. It revolves around the relationship between two childhood friends, Takanashi Sayo and Sakurai Ritsuko, who are now high school girlfriends. The plot runs chronologically with the next installment “Heart and Soul” and other side stories that involve the development of both characters like “Another Sweet Field” (found in Sayuri-Hime 3) and “Girls Don’t Cry” (found in Petit Yuri-Hime). All are scanlated by the fabulous Lililicious team.

Zaou Taishi & Eiki Eiki

“Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter” is brought to you by a combi of 2 mangaka – Zaou Taishi & Eiki Eiki. Eiki Eiki is in-charge of the plot while Zaou Taishi is in-charge of drawing pretty girls and hence, we have a coherent yuri hentai manga. Set in the high school, the plot revolves around 2 different pairings and their friendship cum rivalry. Each mangaka also have their respective yuri & yaoi based works.

Mikuni Hadime

Scanlation and released by Dynasty Scans here, “Green House Witch” (Yuri Hime Wildrose) and “Greenhouse Secret” (Yuri Hime Wildrose 2) are one shots of 2 girls and their green house while “Greenhouse New Year’s Dream” is a short but sweet add on that’s released by Lililicious.

Other mangakas to take note of are Kurogane Kenn and Morinaga Milk but you’re already a big fan of their works so there’s no need for reminders. (^_^)v
