What? The lightning struck and short circuited my modem!!!
The most unimaginable thing happened to me. Two days back on a rainy afternoon when I’m working on my essay, lightning struck and thunder roared. Suddenly I was disconnected from my wireless and I called up the company to check the next morning. The person came to my house and the diagnosis? My wireless modem was short circuited by that afternoon’s lightning attack and I have to get a new modem.
It has been ages since I have a night to myself. For the past few weeks, the monogamous routine of school and working on essays kept me busy. After half day school, I would have dinner and then start work on my essays. After scanning and speed reading those thick library books, I would then try to smoke a paragraph or two of substance for my research essays. If an idea hit me and I can come up with something, I congratulate myself. If I couldn’t, life continues till 2am and I would retire for the night. My life was like that when essay deadlines are lined one after the other.
Yesterday, after handing in my last essay for this semester, it struck me that I have nothing to do and no internet to surf after dinner. Hence, I decided to do some manga reading, what else? It was simple; my room, manga and a cup of warm milk tea.
What’s the Japanese or English title for the above series?
I’m currently at volume 4 and events are unfolding slowly. The plot revolves around a manly high school protagonist who is the dream guy of many girls. He is sexy, is a skilled martial artist, smart and [insert good qualities here]. However he has a secret, that is, he has girly hobbies like cooking, sewing and has a soft spot for girly stuff like soft toys. Other than his two best-est best friends, the others do not know this side of him.
There’s ample exaggeration to portray the characters hilariously. Though ridiculous, I can’t stop smiling at those flashback scenes where the male lead was traumatized by his father who wanted to leave the family to become a girl. Perhaps the gist of the plot is to bring across the point that guys also have a feminine side; hobbies like cooking, sewing or playing with cute toys are not confined to girls. So drop those Gundam figures and get some Rilakkuma.
Yesterday I went through some pamphlets that I got from sistec for the 22nd Film Festival, Arts Festival and the Esplanade. I’m planning to go for some that are held in the month of May & June, anyone going too?

My modem only has one year warranty and I have to either get a new one or extend my broadband contact. I did the later and had to pay an additional 2 months broadband fee because my contract isn’t up yet.
Not to rub it in or anything but usually, in my experience, when it comes to these sort of things, it’s always a matter of time before the lightning gets your modem
