Strike Witches Episode 2 – The Birth of a Heroine

I love episode 2! There’s action and plot development, I’m absolutely going to follow Strike Witches. We see the birth of a new Strike Witch who’s born in times of crisis. Below is a snap shoot picture summary of how the protagonist, Miyafuji Yoshika, emerges as a heroine at the end of episode 2.

I’m initially a scary cat who’s afraid of fighting.

But Major Sakamoto encouraged and gave me strength before she left to battle. I decided to make myself useful and tried to heal the injured with my healing magic.

However, I’m inapt at healing magic. Hence, I contribute by carrying bandages.

But I make a mess of everything and all looked bleak with the sinking of many battle ships and air planes. Major Sakamoto is the last one “standing” in the sky battle.

To protect everyone, I wear a leg booster and will bring a gun to Major Sakamoto.

It’s either fly or drown in the sea and so I flew ~~~~~<3 I’m a genius! I manage to fly on my 1st try but I have trouble navigating.

Lucky for me, my magic shield is 2x bigger than Major Sakamoto’s shield.

I’ll be using the gun instead because Major Sakamoto doesn’t need one; she has her light saber sword.

After much difficulty, the target is destroyed, I saved many and I….fainted.

My favorite scene for this episode is the part where Yoshika flew pass Major Sakamoto because she could not control the direction while flying in the air. Major Sakamoto even called out and ask where she’s flying to. XD Yoshika seriously needs some flying lessons after this.

I find the OP fitting for the series after watching episode 2. (:

As yes, I deliberately ignored the yuri part because it’s not the gist of the plot. Why are they making kid like characters loving each other. >.<”

Fanservice notwithstanding, Strike Witches is starting to look good. I’ll probably watch it when I get back home from camp.

Ignoring the “loli”, I think Strike Witches is a good choice if you’re looking for “action” series for the summer season. Birdy and Sekirei might be the other options but if you read the manga, anime Sekirei might lack suspense since you might already know roughly what’s going to happen next.
