Ikkitousen Great Guardians Episode 4
Episode 4 is a “just for laughs” episode and has no relevance to the main plot that’s on-going. I’m terribly displeased with what they did to Kan’u in this episode since I have a very good impression of her from the manga. Yes, Kan’u is so loyal to the extent that she will willing sacrifice herself to protect Gentoku but she does not have other “extreme desires” like lesbianic tendencies towards Gentoku. The only time she admitted that she’s a lesbian is when she wanted to purposely scare Gentoku into running away so that she can fully concentrate on the enemies.
It’s all about purple necklaces for this episode. When the wearer strings the necklace over their neck, his/her desires will be outwardly portrayed to the extreme. Below is the list of victims who has the purple necklace strung (voluntary or involuntary) over their necks.
Victim #1 – Ekitoku
The very first victim, Ekitoku strung it over her neck as she found it pretty just like any accessory.
Victim #2 – Kouchuu
Strung it over his neck out of curiosity and went into berserk mode immediately. He grabbed Ekitouku and Kan’u b00bs but was sent flying soon after.
Victim #3 – Gentoku
Necklace was given to her by Kan’u and she wore it voluntary. Strangely, it does not have any effect on her.
Victim #4 – Kan’u
Gentoku sprang a surprise on her and strung the necklace over her neck. Kan’u then grabbed Gentoku and tried to violate her.
Victim #5 Chou’un
Voluntary strung it over her neck probably for unknown reasons. Chou’un stopped Kan’u from violating Gentoku and challenged her to a match. So her desire is to pit against Kan’u?
Victim #6 – Hakufu
She comes into the picture because she’s leading her Nanyou comnrades to Seitou for a friendly meal. Due to her carelessness (as usual), the purple necklace got to her neck.
The fight between Chou’un and Kan’un is interesting but it’s too short. They merely exchange a few blows before the sensei stops both of them with some energy blast. The sensei must be some hidden ninja character as he’s strong enough to knock out toushi who are A ranks with a single blast. Just what has he been doing all along? He should help Seito in the past fights!
