Strike Witches Episode 1 – The Best So Far
I’m not a fan of mecha as series with humans piloting machines in the air, or anywhere, is always excluded from my list. However, Strike Witches is unique because of the many below reasons.
#1. Characters that fly in the air are girls only, known as Strike Witches.

#2. They fly in their official uniforms but some of them don’t wear pants or shorts, they go panties.
#3. They can fly because they’re aided by unconventional machines like leg boosters (instead of an air plane or some robots).
#4. They manually carry their weapons along with them, some examples below.

Different characters use different guns.
One of them even use a sword that glows! Wow!
#5. It’s not all mecha as there’s magic involved. They have weird looking ears and a tail when flying their machines.
I also have a terrible soft spot for series where a characters fight in order to protect mankind and that’s what exactly the girls are doing; they’re fighting so as to protect Earth. They’re fighting against “Neuroi“, which is the term given to some air plane looking machine that randomly appears out of nowhere and it completely destroys stuff. To combat Neuroi, anti-Neuroi weapons, known as the Striker Unit, are created. NB: They’re those leg booster things that the girls wear during combat.
Meet Major Mio Sakamoto!
Though Yoshika is pleasant protagonist for the plot, my favorite for now is Major Mio Sakamoto. She’s cheerful and optimistic and her actions are hilarious. However if the need arise, she can be a serious commander. I laughed real hard at the hangar scene where the girls are doing a sun tan when they’re suppose to be on standby. After watching many 1st episodes of the many new series, Strike Witches is the most entertaining and the most exciting so far. Sekirei would come after Strike Witches. Telepathy Shoujo Ran is near the bottom of the list as it’s starting to bore me while Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~ (what a lengthy title!) is boring though it has great background images. Ikkitousen Great Guardians is not exactly a series that one would categorize as exiting or entertaining. As for the others, I can’t say much since I haven’t caught them yet but give Strike Witches a try if you still haven’t find “the one” for this season. Trust me, it’s worth the watch. (:

I’m reviewing my preferences now since it’s worrying to know that I’m actually sharing the same likes with ID Sojourner. XD Kidding here, I’m glad that I’m finally on the same side as ID Sojourner.
Well, I’m loving this for all the wrong reasons, but hey, at least I’m being honest about it P: Oh, and the sun-tanning pair is official my favorite thus far.
this is just the start, it may not do so well in the next few eps. but panties are all thats required to make me happy.
