Lunch Buffet At Zhou’s Kitchen

My family went to Jurong Point Zhou’s Kitchen on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate my mum’s birthday. (:

Zhou's Kitchen

We were not allowed to book any seats in advance so I guessed it must have been a popular restaurant though newly opened. However, there were many empty spots when my family got there. It was only later when I found out that most of the customers were seated on level 2 along with the various sections the dishes could be found.

Zhou’s Kitchen is divided into 2 levels and the 2nd level customers were hidden from view by walls and artificial plants. It is Chinese-styled food-wise and decoration-wise. There, the artificial “pond” at the entrance and the artificial bamboo plants that were on the walls were the most memorable decorations.

Pond?

Artificial bamboo as decorations.

The food is limited to what I would call the drinks, salad, Chinese food, Japanese food, and the dessert section. The Japanese food section has only 3 dishes and my favorite was the salmon sashimi. Drinks were free flow but the gassy drink machine was out of service so lime juice, tea and coffee was the drink for the day.

There were many Chinese dishes but not much meaty stuff. For a chicken lover like me, I had to rely on toufu and the single stewed chicken dish because I stay away from mutton and beef. There were also a few Dim Sum like har gow, siu mai and century egg porridge (where’s the century egg!?!) but they were average.

Noodles with a mix of ingredients.

My favorite is the prawn and cuttlefish.

Zhou’s Kitchen would be a healthy buffet choice for light eaters who enjoy Chinese cuisine. Dishes are mainly stewed (e.g. stewed chicken) or steamed (e.g. Dim Sum and porridge). There are not many dishes nor variety but they have at least one of each meat group. It cost around S$25/pax for the lunch buffet and I found out that the afternoon tea was cheaper though I’m unsure what the menu is. If you’re looking for something healthier, give this a try!

Yes, it’s so crowded nowadays, perhaps due to its opening and the various sales that are on-going. They did a good job in combining the new with the old wing; I almost couldn’t recognize the place.

They also have Zhou’s Kitchen at Far East Square and Anchorpoint. Perhaps they’re nearer to your place?
