Top 5 Reasons Why Gals Do Not Collect Figures

This definitely does not apply to all because I know one awesome babe who collects figures. However, let’s look at it from a hilarious angle and explore some reasons as to why gals do not collect figures. Below, I bring you the top 5 of the many reasons why figure collecting is just not a gal’s cup of tea.

#1. The figure is sexier than us and hence, reminds us of our see and fail figure.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat TEH TOY is hotter than moi! #@%#@%

#2. Figures are expensive, we blow our money on make-up and dresses already.

Our FaVoRiTe online sites are The Body Shop, M.A.C Cosmetics and wet n wild Cosmetics.

#3. Majority are female figures, we love hawt males!

Me is HAWT figure!!!

Where are the hawt Male Figures?

#4. Jealous parents will send us for counseling if they see us admiring sexy figurines in the bedroom.

An imagined scenario…

“Hyn! What’s THAT!!!”

#5. No time to keep the figures dust free. We must do manicure!

Do you know that…

“Fingernails grow nearly 4 times faster than toenails?”

On a personal note, Blissmo I think you’d like the below figure that I found on KKnM’s website.

    I agree with 2 and 5. I’d rather spend money on a new sweater or something than a figure and dusting figures sucks. I have a couple but most are those random trade figures you get in the cheap $10-12 boxes. The only actual figure I have is CC from Code Geass because of an internal pizza butt joke with my fiance

    Yes dust free figurines takes up a lot of time! i have no time to clean.. orz. Lucky for guys, we dont have dress or make up to get.

    but i want go do a manicure(if no one looks), need to buff away the dead toe nail layer which is rough and ugly. =x

    Rule 1 and 4 made me laugh. I could have guessed number three. Where are the hawt male figurines?

  4. November 26th, 2008 at 00:30 | #4

    I lament at the lack of male figures; there are too many pantsu flashing female ones out there.

    Anyway, there is a reason why some people prefer not to collect figures and it is not because collecting figures is objectively wrong. It is simply the case that some people prefer to spend their money in other places.

    lol, nice and funny post! yes and where are the hawt male figures, me wants them too =P

  7. November 26th, 2008 at 00:58 | #8

    Point #2 is most applicable to me; cosmetics and facial care products included. We could definitely use more hot male figurines, though. :biggrin:

    @Hinano
    Same here, I’ll spend my money on other items like food instead. A lazy bum like me keep the manga that I have in big plastic boxes so that I need not wipe the shelves. :whistle:

    @pp
    Ah that’s Pedicure instead. Manicure is for fingernails while Pedicure is for toe nails. I think some shopping centers do offer such services, just need to search harder.

    @The Sojourner
    Really, hawt male figures have a rarity index of 99!
    Money-wise, I’m gonna allocate mine on future driving lessons. ~wheeee

    I just think that figures aren’t that appealing anyway. What’s everybody so hyped about?

    I partially agree with number two, except I blow all my money on manga and anime, not clothes and make-up.

  11. November 26th, 2008 at 08:33 | #12

    In my eyes the only valid points are #1 and #3

    I guess most guys would feel awkward if his girl would admire some kinda goodlooking animedude.
    Same goes for posters,movies whatever

    And well #3 pretty much explains itself.Usually the male Otaku wont buy male figures except if hes a total badass/cool dude.So females wont buy any female figures unless they are cute? (okay i know nothing about girls ^^;;) enough

    Its alot wiser to spend the money on driving lessons tough :-P

    LOL. I don’t buy figures except Nendoroids, except there are many people who don’t count those as true figures. Whatever, I just get anything that’s cute!

    The best win-win situation : collect mecha! No gender bias! Well, I do know of a gal who collects gundam =)

    I’d say #2 and #3 are my reasons – I can’t justify the cost and there aren’t any male figures I’d want.

  15. November 26th, 2008 at 18:10 | #16

    @Omisyth
    I don’t know. I don’t collect figures too. :silly:

    @A Day Without Me
    I spend more money on manga than on make-up too. (:

    @Blowfish
    Brooooooom…that’s where my money is going! Trust me, #2 is valid too, you have no idea how many blow their money on clothes, make-up, and accessories.

    @shirokiryuu
    Oh I saw some cute male Nendoroids (especially those from Death Note) on Soshi’s site before.

    @Loba
    Still, mecha is not hawt enough! :sideways:

    @Caitlin
    I’d say #2, #3 and #5 are my reasons for not collecting figures. There are many other areas where money can be spent and I’m sooooo lazy that I only tidy my room 4 times in a year.

  16. November 26th, 2008 at 18:26 | #17

    ahh my bad, pedicure not manicure… i saw them(pedicure) around shopping malls but all seems to be ladies customer only =x. don’t dare to try. :cwy:

    You dont have to tell me how expenisve Drivers Licenses are…I had to spend around 2000 €uro :/

    I guess the girls need the makeup,clothes etc. so that their guys play with them instead of the figures :lol:

    Ahhh I agree with 2 and 3… I am always dead broke, but I always try to collect some form of figurines, so I guess I go for the cheap end of things..such as the Clamp in Wonderland figurines for like $6 something. Wish that there would be male figurines like Junjou characters though.

    Gashapon toys forever (also nendroids)!! :P
    Figurines are too expensive and bulky for me (not like I can display them too, not enough space in the house), and as you’ve said, there aren’t enough figurines of HAWT GUYS! RAWR.

    You’re right jen, space is an issue too. Figures will be excluded from my list because I’m short of space even for my textbooks.

    FFVIIKnight, you have a fetish for blue-haired gals? :w00t: Now I know. (:

    Oh PLUSHIES! (:: I’d love to get them but my bed does not have space for them.
