Dance in the Vampire Bund Volume 2
Remember the rich loli vampiress manga that I introduced previously? I finally got my hands on volume 2 from Kinokuniya and finished reading it.

Reviewing now since it’s still fresh in my memory, the climax for volume 2 is the death match between hime-sama and Akira in nowhere other than TEH church, how blasphemous can it get? Volume 2 focuses on the concept of trust; between lovers, between friends and between blood kins. Hime-sama left Vampire Bund to become an official student in a human school that is located on the main island. “Coincidentally”, it is the very school that Akira and friends are studying in and the human population violently opposes such a move. In face of strong opposition from both the student council and the human ministry, hime-sama is made as un-welcomed as possible by everyone on the mainland. It’s no wonder everyone pointed fingers at hime-sama when students from the student council and relatives of the ministry were kidnapped.
Volume 2 has more explanations on the manga’s concept of the vampire. At the end of this volume, one will know more of their nature and some of the natural laws revolving around the vampires. The mysterious and sexy long hair lady, who’s found in volume 1, also reappears in this volume so if you’re curious to learn of her identity, you should grab volume 2.
There are a few sub-plots, like the relationship between Akira and his female classmate for example, unfolding under the umbrella of the main plot but everything wrap up nicely at the end. There’s action and suspense in volume 2 but they are on a lower level as compared to volume 1 as the gist for volume 2 is on the inter-human/vampire relations and not so on the action. The antagonists also were nothing impressive as they did not put up much of a fight and there are no mind boggling assassins. Instead, things wrap up in a bloody mess when hime-sama appears but heck, I did not read this manga for gore or action.
Overall volume 2 is enjoyably entertaining as it has a simple plot with a well resolved ending. With that tinge of action, it balances conceptual explanations with action so that readers will not get an over dose of conceptual explanations while reading. Once again brought to you by TEH better of the publishers (you guys out there know who the shit publishers are), Seven Seas Entertainment released volume 2 in August and volume 3 is set for a December release. Perhaps it’ll be out just in time for Christmas. (:

You’re starting to peak my interest… though I’m now adoring Yakuza Girl.
FFVIIKnight´s last blog post..So… about that Gundam 00 Second Season…
I recommend this manga to vampire fans and those that enjoy plots that are uncomplicated.
