Singapore Motorshow 2008 – From A N00b’s Perspective
Usagijen is in Singapore! A few of us (boss, Impz and Jun) had the honor of meeting Jen and her buddies for lunch before I become the “part-time tour guide” for the day. Really, I suck as the tour guide because we wandered around aimlessly in Chinatown looking for a chicken rice stall later in the evening. =_=

F1 motor racing is the hottest event that’s on-going in Singapore now. Everyone is talking about it almost everywhere. I gave my buddy (who’s in Beijing) an overseas call and she asked about the F1 racing because that’s apparently a hot topic over there too. Still I’m not into the whole motor car racing fever though I’m aware of it.

They hired a real life model to sit and pose in the car!!!
One of Jen’s buddies is actually a F1 fan and we decided to head over to Suntec to visit the Singapore Motorshow 2008 because we did not have the F1 tickets. There were sooooo many vehicles there; bikes, motors, cars, sport cars, vans and even bicycles. O_o The Motorshow was well received and it was packed with a crowd on a Sunday afternoon. The tickets are affordable, S$6 per adult (thanks for the ticket Jen) and it’s well worth the penny if you’re there to see hot babes posing with the various sport cars. XD

Aside from vehicles, there are also vehicle related items that were on display like car polish, tires, etc. Of the many “complicated items” there, the mini toy figures caught my attention instead and I took a snap shot of them above. (: Cute right?

A snap shot of a red hot Ferrari car.
For a level 0 n00b who cannot differentiate Mitsubishi from Honda (really, all the cars look the same to me), the Motorshow exposed me to more awesome looking cars though I’m still unable to identify most of them. XD Ferrari is easy though, they have TEH Ferrari symbol everywhere (the front, back, and the sides) that it’s hard to miss.
And so the n00b tour guide couldn’t find the chicken rice stall so she ordered other local delights from the hawker center in Chinatown instead.

Oyster Omelet ~<3

Seafood Soup and other side dishes.

Laksa which we couldn’t finish. XD
PS (to C.I. and Panther): I’ve conveyed your messages to Jen and she lol-ed at Panther’s message. XD

Most vehicles look the same to me too… but that’s probably because I’m not a big fan of them… Then again, wind tunnel testing defines most models to have the same shape for the sake of efficiency.
I never had any Love for cars.I dont get why most guys get so much into it.Sure there are some beautiful cars out there but beeing so fixated on it…On the other hand those people would shake their head when they hear what im into ^_^Im glad to know how my car looks so that i can find it in the parking lot.LOL at the Autobahn license plate.I cant think of a reason why you want something like that written on a car.
I have no love for cars either, much that is. I prefer bikes. Those are different for me. I missed the motorshow though, not really interested and I was busy at the beach anyway. Yes, I expected she would lawl at what I said. It was partially true too! And despite what I said, I watched parts of the last night (Sunday) live, MASSA PLANNED ALL OF WHAT HE DID.
Shouldn’t the model be outside the car instead?
Haha, I was working at the F1 event for the past 3 days, as a cleaner. >_<
So managed to see some action over there…
FOOD! YUM!
FOOD FOOD FOOD GLORIOUS SOUTH-EAST ASIAN FOODErr, what cars?
I think that this blog should solely become about delicious Singaporean food.
Nuuuuu, you’re a great tour guide! And who would’ve thought you’d stick with us till the end… *touched beyond words*
It was great to have met you and spend all that time (exploring stuff in the Motorshow, pigging out XD) too. It would not have been as enjoyable if not for you!! So thank you :)
Well sometimes sincerity is more than enough. Fuck noobness.
No pictures of Hynavian. I am disappointed.
@blowfish
I think those are just plates to show that the cars are on display only. I also saw many big vans which I think are caravans (omg I’m a n00b, I can’t differentiate vans from caravans) and they’re an eye opener. I think all the vehicles looked cool (hence, attracting so many vehicle fans) but driving and maintaining them is a different issue altogether.
@Dong
At first I thought that the model was a fake, some doll or something and that was when she started moving in the car. She stayed so still and her features all resembled that of a doll that she would have successfully tricked me into believing that she’s a doll if she never moved.
@Omisyth
I love anime, manga and food; those are my 3 loves.
@usagijen
Jen, I’m glad that you’ve enjoyed your tour around Singapore and I welcome you back anytime with open arms! ~<3 The next time you visit, I’ll be more prepared with various tour attraction spots.
@blissmo
I’ll send you a personal picture of mine on request, specially for you only.

Maybe I should go on a food tour so that you can recommend some of your local food delights.
