Changi Airport Terminal 3 – It’s Spacious & Empty

I just got home from Changi Airport after sending Jun off. *sob sob*

Changi Airport Terminal 3

It was near midnight and there were not many people around, perhaps due to the time? The check-in area happened to be Terminal 3 and I took some photographs of the airport. It’s actually the 2nd time I’m visiting Terminal 3 since its opening. The first time I went there, I visited the area where the shops were (it was bad business then with few people) and I stuffed myself with lots of food from the food court. This time, I didn’t visit that region. Instead, I hang around the check-in counters instead.

Check-in section

Still, not as many people as compared to the other 2 Terminals.

Nice scenery

Terminal 3 is spacious and empty with many “empty lands”. There’s nothing, not even furniture for some of the spacious areas. I find the above “scenery” nice and took a random shot for keep sake purpose. ^.^

Panels?

I even took a picture of the ceiling. I wonder what those plate looking things hanging from the ceiling are and what are their purposes? Are they there for decoration? One of my friends mentioned that the ceiling is designed to conserve energy, anyone heard of this before?

    They are supposed to filter sunlight in, lighting the place up with natural light while keeping it cool. At least, that’s what they say.

    @Stifler
    Wow, high tech ceiling! Hopefully I’ll get to visit T3 in the morning so that I can see how the ceiling works. Those panels look more dangerous than useful to me at night since they were hanging from the ceiling at weird angles.

    Done.
    I’ll be checking Andra’s site later, saw her first post on Cosplay and the photographs were excellently taken.
