Yesterday night I met my buddies for steamboat buffet at Hoshi Japanese Restaurant; it’s the one that’s located at the 3rd level in IMM building. Though it was a Sunday night and IMM building was crowded, the restaurant failed to attract the many customers since there were many unoccupied tables.

I’m supposed to meet my buddies at 6pm but experience tells me that they’ll be late (and I was right!) so I wandered around IMM building and did some exploration. The one and only shop that I had time to visit was Daiso though probably because it was huge and there were so many things to see so I didn’t have the time to visit other shops.

Items (unless stated otherwise) can be bought at Daiso for S$2 each. A wide variety of goods (ranging from stationery to gardening tools to cosmetics) can be found though they’re not of the best quality. I didn’t purchase anything from Daiso since I’m only “looking around” and the queues were long.
When most of my friends arrived, we embarked on our steamboat buffet journey. On entering, we’re ushered to the “Steamboat Section” and we took the seats that were near the glass windows. The other section was the Teppanyaki buffet section, I think. (:

There were not many food choices there. Excluding the meat balls, there was only 1 type of fish, pork and beef meat there, its definitely not the place for meat lovers. However, if you like stuff like toufu, vegetables, carrots and mushrooms, you should pay this restaurant a visit. My favorites are the sausages, sotong, cuttlefish and fish meat.

One of my friends ordered Passion Fruit Tea.

Watermelon and pineapple – sliced and neatly decorated on a plate.
It came as a surprise; one of the staff brought 2 plates of fruits to us. We didn’t know that we’re entitled to plates of fruits till they brought them to us. The fruits are sweet and tasty, a nice way to wrap things up for the day.
Plus GST and Service charge, it costs around S$20.20 per person; rather cheap for dinning out in a restaurant on a Sunday night. After the meal, my friends and I hang out at McDonald and chatted a little before we head home.

That sounds delicious, except for…are those Vienna sausages floating next to the shrimp? I’ve had shrimp and sausage combos but not so sure about those pasty looking things. ^^;

@The P-Meister
Lets hope that Daiso goes to Scotland too, that way The P-Meister will be a happy man!
@FFVIIKnight
I’m not really a fan of veggies though I do eat them. Also, the restaurant has little choices when it comes to veggie too (about 4 different types of veggies).
@Panther
Yeah, drinks have funky names to make them sound cooler.
@gordon
Cheer up, you can head there solo over the weekends.
Ah gordon! I didn’t know that you live around that area. Such a huge shopping center where you can shop till you drop dead.
@Caitlin
Ah I’m unsure what brand the sausages are but they’re delicious tasting. Oh ya, they have “Yong tau fu” and dumplings there too. My friends and I just throw everything in to make the steamboat look full.
@Blowfish
Quick pick up the phone and ring your friends, an outing would be fun.
@P-MeisterYou can go now. You are back in Singapore for the summer holidays aren’t you?

but in scotland, i make daifuku and other japanese food, over here i don’t, due to the lack of equipment or rather, personal space. It would be nice to get japanese brand mochiko rather than something from a chinese supermarket which is not guaranteed to work.
