Visited Master Crab, the branch in Choa Chu Kang, for dinner with buddies. The restaurant was easy to spot when I was on the bus. In fact, my bus went passed the restaurant and I panicked a little till I realize that Sunshine Plaza has 2 bus stops (both apart from each other) and that I did not miss the stop. I back-tracked and found the restaurant by just following the direction signs that pointed me to the “food court”. The restaurant is located outside the food court and its hard to miss with that many tables out in the open.
The restaurant adopted an outdoor eatery concept, something like open air concept except with shelter over the heads should it rain. A buddy of mine placed reservations the day before and fortunately we did for it was crowded when we arrived on a weekend during dinner hours.

As the name suggests, Master Crab is renowned for their crabs. We had their recommended salted egg crab and it was delicious. The meat was tender and the sauce was so delicious that my friends finished it to the last drop! It was $40+ for a crab that fed 5 pax. However, I would not recommend the other dishes they have there. We had toufu hot plate, frog legs, and salted vegetable soup, and kang kong, but they fell into my mediocre to lack of flavoring category. The salted veggie soup was a little too plain when it was suppose to be salty, the frog legs were just not meaty enough, toufu hot plate was mediocre and the kang kong did not leave any impression on me.
Go give their crabs a try if you’re a big fan of crabs. As for the other dishes….well, I have had better ones elsewhere.
